Ecdol to get Rs 24 Lakh as rent from Noida property of ICDOL

The distance education institute Centre for Distance and Online Education (ECDOL) will once again ease the financial crisis of the university. The university will get an additional income of Rs 24 lakh per month and about Rs 2.88 crore per year as rent from the Noida property of ICDOL. Classes, examinations and enquiry centres were being conducted in this distance education institute in Noida before 2013. The building has been lying vacant since 2013. The National Testing Agency’s examination centre is going to be built in the building.

The university’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal admitted that the Learning Resource Centre of CDOE, which was till now known as International Centre for Distance Education and Open Learning ICDOL, is in Noida. Academic activities were conducted from here. This centre of ICDOL was lying vacant since the notification issued to every university to work within its jurisdiction after the decision of UGC Deb in 2013. This centre will now become a source of additional income for the university. There are preparations to rent this centre to make it an examination centre for NTA. This will generate an additional income of 24 lakhs per month for the university.

An agreement has been reached between the university and NTA to rent out the building of CDOE in Noida to NTA. To complete the remaining formalities of renting out the property, the Vice Chancellor has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajindra Verma. Director CDOE Prof. Sanju Karol, Registrar and Finance Officer are also looking after this work as committee members. The Vice-Chancellor said that an agreement has been reached with NTA regarding rent. Apart from this, other formalities will also be completed soon in a time-bound manner.
