Jawali: The education department has taken strict action against a teacher of a government school in the Jawali assembly constituency for molesting a class 11 student. When this matter came to light, the education department directed BPEO Prabhat Chandra Pawa to investigate and send a report. As per the instructions, BPEO Prabhat Chandra Pawa came to the school and, after recording the written statements of all the teachers, the sexual harassment committee, the school management committee, and the class 11 girls, prepared a file and sent it to the education department.
Based on the investigation committee’s report, the sexual harassment committee had also given a written statement that the girls had made a verbal complaint to the committee.
Taking action based on the investigation committee’s report, the education department has suspended the teacher and posted him to the headquarters in Kinnaur. Education department director Amarjeet Singh said that the teacher has been suspended for molesting a class 11 student, and action will also be taken against the school’s sexual harassment committee. The police are investigating this matter.
