Haryana tourists beaten up by locals in Manali, probe on by police

A case of local people beating up tourists from Haryana has come to light in Himachal Pradesh’s famous tourist destination, Manali. The victim, Pradeep Kumar, has lodged a complaint in the Manali police station. Pradeep Kumar is a resident of Mahendragarh, Haryana.

In the complaint given to the police, Pradeep said that he had come to Manali to visit with his family. He reached near Manali’s telephone exchange on a rented scooter. There was a traffic jam there. Some local people stuck in the jam asked him to move the scooter from the front.

An argument started over this matter. The argument turned into a fight. The complainant alleged that the local people beat up his family badly. During this, Pradeep’s wife and his 4-month-old daughter also fell. The accused who beat them fled in a car.

SHO Manali Munish Raj Sharma said that on the complaint of the tourists, the police have registered a case under sections 126(2), 115(2), 352, 351(2), and 3(5) of the BNS. A police team has been dispatched to search for the accused. He said that those who assault tourists visiting Manali in this manner will not be spared.
