Heat wave warning in 3 districts of Himachal: Temperature 4.8 degrees above normal

Shimla, April 28: A yellow alert has been issued for heat wave today and tomorrow in three districts of Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Center Shimla has forecast heat wave in some areas of Una, Kullu and Mandi districts today.

People in these districts may have to face trouble especially during the day. In view of this, people have been asked to be cautious. Even yesterday, hot winds were felt in some areas of these districts.

There is a possibility of rain for four days from May 1

According to the weather department, Western Disturbance is getting active from the day after tomorrow i.e. 1st May. It will remain active for four days. Due to this, continuous rain is expected till 4th June. The people of the state are expected to get relief from the heat due to this.

Amid the heatwave warning in the state, the mercury in five cities has reached 35 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Una has reached 41.6 degrees, which is 4.8 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature of the state has also increased by 2.5 degrees above normal.

Heat wave poses danger to humans

Heat waves can cause dehydration in a person’s body. This can even kill a person. Changes in sodium and potassium concentration in the blood can affect the heart and nerve cells. This causes problems in breathing and blood flow.

A person affected by heat stroke may feel weak, have headache, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive sweating, feeling tremors, dizziness and muscle cramps. If any of these symptoms are seen, a doctor should be consulted immediately.

What to do to avoid heatstroke?

During a heat wave, one should consume as much liquid as possible and wear light and loose cotton clothes. Similarly, one should not go out in the sun without any reason. If necessary, go out wearing a cloth, cap or handkerchief on the head. While travelling, keep a bottle of water with you and drink ORS solution. Stop consuming intoxicants and consume high protein food.
