Heat wave warning in Himachal today: Temperature crossed 35 degrees in 12 cities

Shimla, June 13: The heat wave will increase in Himachal Pradesh today and tomorrow. The Meteorological Department has warned of heatwave in Una, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Sirmaur districts for the next 48 hours. People may face problems due to heatwave in these districts.

The weather department has advised people not to go out of their homes during the day and avoid unnecessary travel. The temperature in most cities of the state is already three to four degrees above normal. Meanwhile, the temperature is forecast to rise by two to three degrees Celsius today and tomorrow.

Temperature crossed 35 degrees in 12 cities

Meanwhile, the temperature of 12 cities of the state has gone above 35 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Una was recorded at 43 degrees, which is 4.6 degrees above normal. The temperature of Neri in Hamirpur was recorded at 41.2 degrees, Bilaspur at 39.8 degrees, and Hamirpur at 39.0 degrees Celsius.

Western disturbance will be active from 15th

According to the Meteorological Department, Western Disturbance is becoming active from June 15. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain till June 18. During this time, an alert has also been issued regarding storm in some areas.

Heat wave causes water loss in the body

Heat waves can cause dehydration in the human body. This can even kill a person. Changes in sodium and potassium concentration in the blood can affect the heart and nerve cells. This causes problems in breathing and blood flow.

Weakness and headache occur due to heat stroke

A person affected by heat stroke may feel weak, have headache, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive sweating, feeling tremors, dizziness and muscle cramps. If any of these symptoms are seen, a doctor should be consulted immediately.

What to do to avoid heatwave?

During a heat wave, one should consume as much liquid as possible and wear light and loose cotton clothes. Similarly, one should not go out in the sun without any reason. If necessary, go out wearing a cloth, cap or handkerchief on the head. While travelling, keep a bottle of water with you and drink ORS solution. Stop consuming intoxicants and eat high protein food.
