Heavy rain alert again in Himachal from July 21: Rain forecast in 4 districts tomorrow

Shimla, July 19: Monsoon will remain weak in Himachal Pradesh today (Saturday) as well. Most parts of the state, including Shimla, are sunny since morning. According to the Meteorological Department, today the weather may be clear or there may be light clouds at some places.

Whereas tomorrow, i.e. on Sunday, a yellow alert has been issued regarding rain in Bilaspur, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts.

Orange alert for heavy rain from 21 to 23 July

Western Disturbance is becoming active from 21st July. Due to this, heavy rain is forecast for the next 72 hours i.e. till 23rd July. An orange alert warning has been issued in Mandi, Shimla, Solan and the district on 21st July, while on 22nd July, apart from these four districts, heavy rain is also forecast in Kangra.

110 people have lost their lives in Himachal Pradesh

Let us tell you that 110 people have lost their lives in Himachal Pradesh this monsoon season (20 June to 18 July). Out of these, 23 people have died due to landslides, cloudbursts and floods, while 35 people are missing. Out of these, 27 people are missing in Mandi district alone.

Due to heavy rains in the state, government and private property worth Rs 1220 crore has been destroyed. More than 1000 houses have been damaged due to rain and cloudburst. Due to this, hundreds of people have become homeless. Most of the damage in the state has been caused by the rains in the month of June. The monsoon has been weak in July.

Between 1st and 18th July, there has been 6 percent less rainfall than normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the normal rainfall during this period is 137.3 mm, but this time 128.5 mm of rain has fallen. Talking about this week, between 11th and 18th July, there has been 34 percent less rainfall than normal.
