Shimla: Heavy rain is expected in Himachal Pradesh for 3 consecutive days from today. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy rain in four districts on Sunday, eight districts on Monday and three districts on Tuesday.
Kangra, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur districts have been issued an orange alert for today, while Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts have been issued an orange alert for Monday and Shimla, Mandi and Sirmaur districts have been issued an orange alert for Tuesday. These districts may receive heavy rain once or twice in the next three days.
No relief from rain till July 5
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there is no relief from rain in the state till July 5. Orange alert has been issued till June 2 and yellow alert from June 3 to 5. In view of this, tourists along with local people have been advised to remain alert.
Chief Minister appeals to be cautious
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has advised tourists as well as locals to avoid going to high altitude, landslide prone areas and near rivers and streams. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), western disturbance is getting active along with monsoon. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the next three days.
Monsoon made a strong entry in three districts
Monsoon made a strong entry in Una, Shimla and Solan districts of the state. Shimla and Solan received heavy rain on Friday night and Una district on Friday morning. In Shimla, 9 vehicles were damaged due to this. A house in Chalauthi, Shimla has also become unsafe due to landslide. After this, it has been evacuated.
