Debris falls on running bus in Himachal, 2 people injured

Shimla: Heavy rains occurred in many areas of Himachal Pradesh last night. Due to this, more than 150 roads and 334 electricity transformers have been closed after landslides in many places. A major accident was averted in Sangrah, Sirmaur, this morning.

A debris fell on a private bus near Kalth on the Renuka-Sangrah road in the Renuka assembly constituency of Sirmaur district. The bus driver and a woman have suffered minor injuries. This accident occurred near Kalth in the Sangrah sub-division on Saturday morning.

If the bus had gone out of control after the rock fell, it could have fallen into the ditch and caused a major accident. There was a scream among the passengers after the debris fell on the bus.

Amidst the warning from the Meteorological Department, Dharamshala received the highest rainfall of 214.6 mm last night. Due to this, the roads and paths were filled with water. Palampur received 212.4 mm of rain, Jogindernagar 169.0 mm, Kangra 157.6 mm, Baijnath 142.0 mm, Jot 95.4 mm, Nagarota Surian 90.2 mm, Sujanpur Tihra 72.0 mm, Dhaulkuan 70.0 mm, Ghamarur 68.2 mm, Nadaun 63.0 mm, and Barthin 58.8 mm.

The monsoon had entered the state slowly. But now the monsoon has picked up speed. Eight districts of the state have received more rain than normal. In the first five days of July, the state received 59 percent more rain than normal. But there are four districts where the rain is still less than normal. Kalth in the Sangrah are receiving the most rain. Mandi district has received 265 percent more rain than normal until July 5.

On average, Mandi receives 40.2 mm of rain during this period. But this time, 146.6 mm of rain has been recorded. Shimla district has also received 156 percent more rain than normal. The normal rainfall in Shimla until July 5 is 25.2 mm. But this time, 64.5 mm of rain has been recorded.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is forecast until July 11. The speed of the monsoon will be a little slow on July 8 and 9. The monsoon will be active again on July 10.
