Himachal: Certificates of Class IV employees appointed without interview in three years will be checked

The certificates of Class IV employees appointed in the Himachal government without a written examination and interview during the last three years will be investigated. After the order of the High Court, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena has issued instructions in this regard to all administrative secretaries, department heads, deputy commissioners, divisional commissioners, managing directors and secretaries of the recruitment commission.

Aimed to curb fake documents

The appointments made based on certificates without an interview in the last three years have been asked to be investigated within four months. The concerned officials have also been warned of disciplinary action if the educational qualification certificates are not verified carefully. This decision has been taken to curb the use of fake educational documents in government appointments.

The High Court has directed the government to take this step in the case of CWP No. 7320/2025, Gramin Mukt Vidyalaya Shiksha Sansthan vs Himachal Pradesh and others. Citing the increasing number of fake certificates in the state, the High Court has asked the Chief Secretary to ensure verification of educational qualifications.

Verification of certificates necessary: HC

The court had said that verification of certificates has become necessary after many fake degrees/certificates have come to light across the state. In this episode, the state government has issued instructions for the verification of certificates and degrees. In a letter issued by the Personnel Department, it has been said that only genuine and qualified candidates should be appointed to maintain and ensure the integrity of the recruitment. Document authentication is an important process. In this, the validity, origin and accuracy of the educational documents submitted should be checked compulsorily.
