Himachal: CM Sukhu to lay foundation stone of state’s first Green Hydrogen project

Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will lay the foundation stone of the state’s first green hydrogen project today. Chief Minister Sukhu will reach Nalagarh at 2.30 pm and lay the foundation stone of this project.

Hydrogen will be produced in this plant using electricity obtained from renewable energy sources. This plant will promote a clean energy ecosystem by bringing about a massive reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

About 1 lakh 54 thousand 395 kg of green hydrogen can be produced in this plant per year. 04 thousand square meters of land has been marked for the construction of this project in Dabhota.

The state government is going to build a 1 MW green hydrogen plant in Dabhota of Nalagarh assembly constituency. Its construction will cost about Rs 9.04 crore. This green hydrogen plant will have the capacity to produce 423 kg of green hydrogen daily.

Target to complete the project in 18 months

Let us tell you that the state government has set a target of making the country’s first green power state by March 2026. This project will prove to be a milestone in making Himachal a green state. The government has set a target to complete the construction work of the project within 18 months.

MOU with All India Limited

The government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with All India Limited on April 26, 2023, for setting up a green hydrogen plant. The agreement focuses on the development of solar energy, green hydrogen, geothermal energy and compressed biogas.
