Himachal Pradesh School Education Directorate has issued instructions not to grant extraordinary leave to JBT teachers employed on contract. In a letter issued to the District Deputy Directors on Wednesday, the Director said that in some districts, long leaves, including extraordinary leave (EOL) are being sanctioned to teachers appointed on contract.
The Director said that district and block-level officers are sanctioning such leaves by going beyond their jurisdiction. The Directorate has clarified that as per the terms of contract appointment, JBT teachers are entitled to only 12 days of casual leave, 10 days of medical leave and five days of special leave per calendar year.
