Himachal Edu Minister Rohit Thakur speaks on appointment of vocational teachers

Shimla: Vocational teachers are on strike in Shimla and are demanding appointment under government undertakings from the state government. Vocational teachers have accused outsourced companies of irregularities in salary and not paying arrears on time despite the instructions of the department.

In such a situation, Education Minister Rohit Thakur has talked about taking action against the company that does not pay the arrears on time. Also, in the matter of recruiting vocational teachers under government undertakings, the Education Minister said that the government has financial obligations. Vocational teachers have been appointed through companies in most of the states of the country. The department has a positive approach towards vocational teachers.

Education Minister Rohit Thakur said that last month the government had decided to increase the salary of vocational teachers. The salary of vocational teachers appointed in the first phase was increased by Rs 2000 and those appointed in the second phase were increased by Rs 1000. He said that the vocational teachers are telling a lie about arrears. These teachers have been appointed through 17 companies, out of which 16 companies have paid their arrears. There was a delay in paying arrears to only one company.

Regarding the main demand of vocational teachers that they should be appointed under government undertaking, the education minister said that in all the states except half of the states in the country, vocational teachers are providing services through companies. The education minister said that the government has a positive approach towards vocational teachers, but the government has its financial constraints. Apart from this, there are many other aspects. In the coming days also, the government will be positive and make every possible effort.

He further said that now SMC teachers will be included in the education department after giving examination. The process has been started in the education department regarding this.
