After the huge loss to the tourism business due to a natural disaster, the Tourism Development Corporation and private hotel operators have started the exercise of bringing the business back on track by issuing off-season discounts.
While the Tourism Development Corporation has issued 20 to 40 percent discounts to attract tourists during the rainy season, private hotel operators have announced discounts of 30 to 50 percent. To increase the number of tourists in the state, some hoteliers have halved the room rent.
Tourists will be able to take advantage of the monsoon discount issued by the Tourism Development Corporation from July 15 to September 12. Private hotel operators say that tourists will be given discounts till the Durga Puja tourist season in October. There has been a surge in advance booking of hotel rooms, which has given a new ray of hope to the tourism businessmen. This has also made it clear that tourists are still eager to experience the natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere of Himachal.
