Himachal Pradesh Lok Sabha Election: 51 nominations for Lok Sabha, 33 for assembly by-elections filed

Shimla: The nomination process concluded in Himachal on Tuesday. Himachal Pradesh will undergo polling on June 1 during the last phase of elections. Yesterday was the last day to file nominations for the elections. 51 nominations were filed for four Lok Sabha seats and 33 nominations were filed for six assembly by-election seats.

 Maximum of 15 nominations for Lok Sabha have come from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency. In Hamirpur the main contest will be  between Anurag Thakur of BJP and Satpal Raizada of Congress.

14 nominations each have been filed in both Mandi and Kangra areas. Kangana Ranaut is facing Vikramaditya Singh in Mandi, while Anand Sharma is facing Rajeev Bhardwaj in Kangra. As many as eight nominations have been filed in Shimla.

Following the submission of nomination papers, the election commission will be scrutinizing the papers. The last date to withdraw the application is May 17.

17 nominations for Lok Sabha on the last day

17 nominations were filed for the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday, the last day of filing of nominations. Of these, maximum seven nominations have been filed in Mandi, six in Kangra, three in Hamirpur and one in Shimla.
