Himachal: Teacher accused of molestation suspended, statements of 15 girl students recorded in court

The department has issued orders to suspend the accused teacher arrested in the case of indecent behavior and molestation of girl students. The teacher has been in police custody for more than 48 hours, so this action has been taken against him as per the rules. According to the information received, the Director School Education, Himachal Pradesh, has issued orders in this regard on Monday. In the orders, he has said that a case has been registered against TGT (Non Medical) Rakesh Kumar under section 75 of BNS and section 10 of POCSO Act.

He has been in police custody since June 21. As per the rules, he has been suspended till further notice due to being in police custody for more than 48 hours continuously. On the other hand, the Deputy Director of the Elementary Education Department has also been entrusted with the responsibility of investigation in this case.

On the other hand, on Monday, statements of 15 girl students of the school have been recorded before the court under 164 in this case. The police is taking further action in the case. While the accused teacher is on police remand, he will be produced before the court again on Tuesday.

It is worth noting that on Friday, this matter came to the notice of the school administration during Shiksha Samvad. After this, a meeting of the Sexual Harassment Committee was organized. In the meeting, the written and oral complaints, students were asked to present their side in front of the committee members. During this, the students had accused the mathematics teacher of the school of misbehaving with them and mentally harassing them. However, when the matter came to the notice of the school management and no action was taken, people demonstrated in the school premises on Saturday.

After this the matter reached the police and a case was registered against the teacher and he was arrested. On the other hand, Deputy Director Higher Education Department Dr. Himanshu Bali said that orders have been issued by the Director School Education Department to suspend the accused teacher.

He said that the Deputy Director Primary Education has been entrusted with the responsibility of investigating the matter. At the same time, SP NS Negi said that statements of 15 girl students have been recorded before the court. The accused teacher is on police remand.
