Monsoon havoc in Himachal claims 105 lives including 61 rain-related, 44 road accidents

Many roads are blocked due to landslides in various places in Himachal Pradesh. This has increased the difficulties of the people. Rain continues in many parts. Till 10:00 am on Wednesday, 385 roads including two national highways remained blocked in the state. 263 electricity transformers and 220 water supply schemes are also affected. The maximum number of 251 roads, 128 electricity transformers and 62 water supply schemes are affected in the disaster affected Mandi district. 78 roads are blocked in Kullu district.

Rain recorded in different districts

During the last 24 hours, 57.0 mm of rain was recorded in Manali, 37.5 mm in Sarahan, 36.2 mm in Ghamarur, 32.2 mm in Nagarota Suriyan, 30.6 mm in Aghar, 29.4 mm in Murari Devi, 27.4 mm in Guler, 27.0 mm in Bilaspur, 25.2 mm in Bharari, 24.2 mm in Kahu and 23.6 mm in Barthin.

Rain predictions for upcoming days

According to Meteorological Centre Shimla, rain is forecast to continue in many parts of the state till July 29. Light to moderate rain is likely at many places on July 23, 26 and 29. Light to moderate rain is likely at most places on July 27 and 28. While light to moderate rain will occur at some places on July 24 and 25. A yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued at some places from 24 and 27 to 29 July.

1471 houses damaged in monsoon so far

135 people have lost their lives in the state from 20 June to 22 July in this monsoon season. 224 people have been injured. 34 people are still missing. During this period, 59 people have died in road accidents. 1471 kutcha-pukka houses, shops have been damaged so far due to cloudburst, landslides, floods.

1037 Gaushalas have also been damaged. 1327 domestic animals have died. The total loss figure has reached Rs 1,24,736.71 lakh. The maximum temperature is likely to increase by 3-5 degrees Celsius during the next 3-4 days. After that the temperature is likely to fall by 3-5 degrees Celsius.
