Kinnaur: On Wednesday morning, in the village of Rarang, located in the Pooh subdivision of Kinnaur district, Himachal Pradesh, the old house of local resident Chandr Bhagat Negi was completely gutted in a fire. The three-room wooden house, situated in the middle of the village, housed two laborers whose ration, bedding, and other belongings were also destroyed in the fire.
As soon as the information was received, Local people managed to control the fire, which was a crucial effort, as most of the houses in Rarang village are made of wood and are closely situated. If the fire had not been controlled in time, it could have spread to nearby houses, causing further damage.
The reason of how and why the fire spread is not known yet.
As soon as the incident was reported, Revenue Department official Patwari Jay Prakash Negi reached the site and assessed the damage. The initial investigation estimates the damage to be around seven lakh rupees. The administration took immediate action, providing the affected laborers with ration, bedding, and utensils. However, the exact cause of the fire has not been determined yet.
