Shimla: Questions are also being raised on the action of central agencies (CBI and ED) in Himachal’s much-talked-about scholarship scam of Rs 181 crore. Both these agencies are investigating this case. The DSP of the Shimla office, who was investigating the scam, has been arrested by Chandigarh CBI. The DSP is accused of demanding a 10 percent commission from the bribe received from the accused named in the scam.
At the same time, after the arrest of ED Assistant Director Vishal Deep, the Enforcement Directorate is also investigating the case related to money laundering afresh. On the other hand, CBI Chandigarh has taken the records from the Shimla office which was investigating the case. After the transfer of the accused DSP, DSP Govind Singh Solanki has now been posted in the CBI office in Shimla.
On the other hand, the Delhi headquarters of the Enforcement Directorate has handed over the responsibility of investigation to the Shimla Sub Zonal Deputy Director and the Joint Director of the Headquarters. Earlier, the Assistant Director of Shimla office was investigating the money laundering case, he has already been arrested by CBI Chandigarh on the charge of taking bribe.
CBI is interrogating both of them. The CBI is investigating whether the former assistant director of ED has demanded money from other companies while in office. Company operators are also being questioned in Baddi, Barotiwala, Kala Amb regarding this.
It is worth mentioning that the ED headquarters has changed the staff of Shimla in the bribery case from the operators of private educational institutions accused of scam. Everyone is surprised by the action taken by the CBI on the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case of demanding a bribe of Rs 2.5 crore in two complaints related to money laundering.
