HRTC Bus and bike collide in Kangra: 3 killed including a couple

Kangra: In Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, a Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus and a bike collided violently late Thursday night. Three people, including a couple, died in this accident. The police have registered a case and started further action.

According to the information, this accident took place at Thanpuri under Police Station Nagarota Bagwan at 11 pm on Thursday night. It is being told that the three bike riders were returning home from a wedding ceremony. During this, their bike collided with a bus. Due to this, one youth died on the spot, while 2 died in the hospital.

After the accident, they were taken to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College Tanda in the night itself, where doctors declared them dead. It is being told that the bike riders collided with the bus while overtaking a scooter. The roadways bus was going from Chandigarh to Baijnath.

The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Kumar (35), Gulshan Kumar (34) and Gulshan’s wife Suman (31), residents of Sadarpur (Tanda). All the three deceased had come to attend a wedding ceremony at their relatives’ house in Nagrota. They met with an accident while returning home. Both the youths worked as ward-boys in Medical College Tanda. The news of the death of 3 people from the same village in a road accident has caused mourning in the area.

The deceased couple also has a 10-month-old son, whom they had left at home with their grandmother and had gone to the wedding. After conducting the postmortem of the deceased, the bodies have been handed over to their relatives. All the markets of Sadarpur Tanda remained closed on Friday.

Police registered a case – DSP

DSP Kangra Ankit Sharma said that the police have registered a case against the bus driver and started investigating the road accident. The bus has been taken into custody. The passengers travelling in the bus were sent off in another bus at night itself.
