Himachal: Villagers build road themselves in Bharmour

Bharmour: In Himachal Pradesh, people of Pilli ward in Garola village panchayat of Holi have shown the mirror to the department by repairing the road themselves when the PWD department did not repair the road.

Villagers say that for the last 6 months, repeated demands were made to the department to repair the road, but the department was ignoring their words. Therefore, the people of the ward gathered together and built the damaged road themselves.

A ward member of Pilli ward, Seema Devi, said that the condition of the road leading to our village was bad, about which we complained to the Public Works Department Garola several times. But the department was not able to repair this road. Therefore, now the villagers themselves have started the repair work on this road.

On this subject, Assistant Engineer Bhalchand of PWD Department Garola has said that the department has built a kilometer of jeepable 650 meters of road. The remaining portion is closed due to being private land, yet machines have been sent to remove the debris.

Bharmour MLA, Dr. Janak Raj, has said that this kind of mischief in the name of system change will not be tolerated at all. He has said that the government will be talked to on a priority basis so that people do not face any kind of inconvenience related to the road.
