Increment of teachers who do not give good results will be stopped, Himachal Edu Minister

Education Minister Rohit Thakur said that it is a matter of happiness for the entire state that Himachal has achieved the glory of the past in the field of education. Talking to reporters at the State Secretariat on Friday, the Education Minister said that in 1947, the literacy rate of Himachal was seven percent, in 2011, the literacy rate was 83 percent, and currently it will reach 100 percent.

He said that in the National Assessment Survey in 2021, we were at the 21st position; now, in this year’s survey, Himachal has reached the 5th position.

In the survey of ASER, Himachal has overtaken Kerala in learning and reading. Rohit said, ‘During the time of the previous government, the condition of education was very bad, along with the economic condition. I am not an educationist but I am a hard task master, our government has taken tough decisions. Now we will make more improvements, the vacant posts of teachers are being filled, the number of schools with single teachers has become very less.’

The Education Minister said that the increase in teachers who do not give good results will be stopped, and teachers who give good results will be honored. Everyone’s safety will be ensured in schools during the monsoon.

During the BJP’s rule, only 511 lecturers were recruited in five years; during our government’s tenure so far, more than 700 lecturer posts have been filled. Four thousand posts have been filled batch-wise. The process of filling more than seven thousand posts is going on in the coming time. Incidents of sexual exploitation of girl students in schools are sad. Two teachers have been suspended in these cases so far.
