Initiative to boost Tourism: Sukhu Govt to launch cruise in Koldam reservior

Sukhu government is emphasizing on promoting tourism in the state. Tourism activities are being promoted in the state to bring tourists to Himachal. In this series, after Gobindsagar lake of Bilaspur district, now soon a 42 seater cruise will be launched in the Koldam reservoir on the lines of Kerala. Along with this, Shikaras, speed boats and water scooters, etc. will be seen running. The district administration has awarded the tender for water tourism and adventure sports in the Koldam reservoir.

This tender has been received by Maa Bhavani Transport Company, which is successfully operating water tourism in the Chamera Dam of Chamba. The important thing is that the government will get a revenue of Rs 33 lakh in the form of GST annually. Tourists will be able to visit the 30 km long lake from Harnoda to Tattapani through cruise and enjoy nature.

The next target of Bilaspur’s dynamic Deputy Commissioner Abid Hussain Sadiq is to implement the water tourism project in Koldam. He says that by March, there is a plan to start cruise and Shikara along with speed boats, jet ski, parasailing, kayaking, banana ride, hot balloon, sofa ride, ringo ride, rowing, paddle boating and ATV rides etc. in the Koldam reservoir. The successful operation of the project will generate a revenue of Rs 33 lakh for the state government in the form of GST. The effort is to launch the water tourism project in the Koldam reservoir in March. Under the scheme, the tourism project will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister on March 23, because the Chief Minister will attend the closing ceremony of the state-level Nalwari fair in Bilaspur as the chief guest. Therefore, the International Paragliding Cup will also be inaugurated by the CM at Bandladhar in Bilaspur from March 23 to 27.
