A lineman died of electrocution in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Ajay Kumar, a resident of Golwan in Kangra, was climbing an electric pole and fixing a fuse in Behalpur village of Gangth subdivision on Monday evening.
During this, he got electrocuted and got stuck on the electric pole. After this, the people present there informed the electricity workers about this. Then Ajay Kumar was brought down and taken to Civil Hospital Indora for treatment, where the doctors declared him dead.
After Ajay Kumar’s death due to electrocution, a wave of mourning spread in his village Golwan. Ajay Kumar had joined the Electricity Board only seven years ago. He was currently serving as a lineman. He has left behind his wife and 6-month-old son. His father is also retired from the Electricity Board.
The police have registered a case and started investigation. The body will be handed over to the family after postmortem today.
This is the third electric worker who has died due to electrocution in the state in the last 15 days. Last week, in Panog village of Shoghi Ki Thadi Panchayat in Shimla, outsourced employee Sushil died of electric shock while opening the Jio switch in the transformer on the power line. Similarly, Pankesh also died of electric shock in Hamirpur last week.
