A case of collapse of a bridge near Mangalore on the Saenz-Ot-Luhri National Highway 305 connecting Kullu has come to light. Due to this, traffic has come to a standstill. A vehicle passing through it was also damaged due to the collapse of the bridge. The driver suffered minor injuries in this.
Earlier, a vehicle loaded with cement had passed over this bridge, causing cracks to appear. Vehicles carrying more than their capacity often pass through this route. There is movement of vehicles from Kullu to Rampur, Shimla, Kinnaur, and Kaza on this route.
In such a situation, people coming to Kullu from Shimla, Rampur, Ani, and Nirmand are stranded near Mangalore. This bridge connecting the border of Mandi and Kullu was built around 1980.
There is no other alternative route to pass through here. It may take a long time to build a temporary bridge here. There has been a heavy traffic jam here since morning, due to which people are worried.
Some people are crossing the ditch on foot. On the other hand, Banjar MLA Surendra Shourie, while giving information in this matter, said that the officials of the National Highway Authority were informed about this in the morning itself, alternative arrangements will be made soon.
