Mandi: Fire breaks out in Santoshi Mata Mandir, Short Circuit suspected

Mandi: An incident of fire has come to light in Santoshi Mata Mandir. In this incident of arson around 5 am, goods worth about Rs 3 lakh of the temple have been burnt to ashes. The cause of the fire is being told to be a short circuit.

Former councilor and local resident Bansi Lal said that when the municipal corporation cleaning staff was picking up garbage from the houses at 5 am on Saturday morning, they noticed smoke rising from the temple. They made noise and informed the residents of the entire locality about the fire in the temple.

After this, all the people gathered and started controlling the fire and the fire brigade was also informed about the fire. After about an hour of hard work, the fire was brought under control. In this incident of arson, all the offerings made in the temple during Navratri have also been burnt.

The head of Santoshi Mata Mandir Committee, Tej Lal Chandel, said that all the items inside the temple have been burnt due to this arson, only the idol of Mata Rani is left, all the rest of the items have been burnt. He said that all the offerings made to Mata Rani by the devotees during Navratri have been burnt, property worth about Rs 3 lakh has been destroyed in this arson. He has demanded financial assistance from the district administration so that the temple can be given its previous form.

The police, who reached the spot, have registered a case in this regard and started further investigation.
