Matter of firing on Former MLA Bumber Thakur echoes in Assembly, CM Sukhu says SIT formed to investigate

The firing case on former MLA Bumber Thakur echoed in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly on Tuesday. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that three people have been arrested by the police. The government has formed an SIT to investigate this matter. Forensic evidence is being collected.

On this, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that Bamber Thakur is making political statements in this matter. This is unfortunate. On this, CM Sukhu said that he would talk to Bamber Thakur personally.

Let us tell you that firing was done on Bamber Thakur between 2 and 2.30 pm on Holi. Four people are visible in the CCTV. But two people did the firing. Due to this, Bamber Thakur and his PSO were shot, while a supporter got hit by a shrapnel on his leg. The condition of all three is out of danger. But even after four days, the shooters are out of the grip of the police. The shooters are said to be residents of Haryana.

SIT has gone to Haryana to arrest the shooters. After their arrest, it will be clear in the interrogation who is behind the attack on Bamber.

The Leader of Opposition also raised the issue of Himachal Power Corporation’s missing Chief Engineer Vimal Negi in the House, who has been missing since March 10 and no clue has been found till now. On this, Chief Minister Sukhu said that he has instructed the police to find the missing Chief Engineer soon. Let us tell you that Vimal Negi left his house for office on March 10 like any other day. But he did not return home. He was last traced in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh where he was captured in CCTV cameras.
