Shimla, July 5: Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the situation in the disaster-affected Seraj area of Mandi district is now gradually returning to normal. He said that the government is constantly monitoring the relief work.
Homeless families will get Rs. 5000 per month rent
CM Sukhu announced that families whose houses have been damaged in the rain will be given ₹ 5000 rent assistance per month. He also urged citizens with safe houses to make additional rooms available on rent.
Relief material is being delivered through army and mules
The Chief Minister said that relief material is being delivered with the help of mules and porters. The army is also engaged in relief work and some roads have been reopened.
IMD’s red alert, government on alert mode
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Sunday. On this, the Chief Minister said that the state government is fully prepared to deal with any emergency.
So far 69 dead, 37 missing
The Chief Minister said on Friday that so far 69 people have died, 37 are missing and 110 are injured due to continuous monsoon rains. 14 cloudburst incidents have been recorded, affecting road, power and water projects.
