Monsoon weakened in Himachal: 25% less rain than normal

Shimla: Monsoon has weakened in Himachal Pradesh this time. So far this season, there has been 25 percent less rain than normal. Monsoon enters the state from Sirmaur district. But there was no good rain in Sirmaur itself. Sirmaur has received 51 percent less rain than normal.

The average rainfall in the state from June 1 to July 10 is 168.9 mm. But this time 127.1 mm rain has occurred. Shimla is the only district where there has been 3 percent more rain than normal. Shimla received 174.2 mm rain, while the average rainfall here is 168.83 mm. All other districts have received less than normal rain.

Bilaspur district has received 26 percent less rain than normal, while Chamba has received 32 percent, Hamirpur 22 percent, Kangra 7 percent, Kinnaur 42 percent, Kullu 25 percent, Lahaul Spiti 59 percent, Mandi 4 percent, Solan 23 percent and Una district has received 45 percent less rain than normal.

If there is no good rain in the coming days, it will affect the agriculture of the state as well as Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, because water for the neighboring states also goes through Himachal. Especially the agriculture of Punjab and Haryana is dependent on the water of Himachal.

Yellow alert of rain for 3 days from today

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has definitely issued a yellow alert of rain from July 11 to 13. But in most areas of the state including Shimla, light sunshine has been shining since morning. According to IMD, monsoon will be more active only for three days. Between 14 and 16 July, its speed will slow down and light rain may occur at some places.

According to the Meteorological Department, this time good rain is not happening due to lack of air pressure and strong western disturbance not being active. Even in the month of May, good rain is not happening due to the cyclonic storm named Remal.

Temperature rises, mercury of 6 cities crosses 35 degrees

Due to lack of rain in the state, the temperature has also risen. The mercury of some cities has gone up to six degrees above normal. After this, the temperature of six cities of the state has gone up to more than 35 degrees Celsius. The mercury of Dalhousie has reached 29.7 degrees with a jump of 6 degrees above normal.
