Shimla: In Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla, police have arrested two brothers for drug smuggling. Both the arrested youths are residents of Punjab. Police have also recovered chitta from the accused. Police have registered a case against both the smugglers and have started investigating the matter.
According to the information received from the police, the police team had set up a check post near Housing Board Colony near Shoghi in Shimla on Kalka- Shimla NH-5 on Friday. During this time, the police stopped a bike having Punjab’s number coming from Chandigarh towards Shimla for checking.
When the police investigated it, Police recovered 12.280 grams of chitta (heroin) from the two youths riding the bike. The arrested accused have been identified as 28-year-old Davinder Singh and 34-year-old Mandeep Singh.
Both the accused are residents of the village Shekha district Mohali. Both the smugglers are said to be brothers and were involved in the smuggling of drugs together. Both the youths had come to Shimla for a visit. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against the accused under NDPS and started an investigation.
