President Draupadi Murmu’s Himachal visit has been finalized. The President will reach Shimla on May 5 and return to Delhi on May 9. In view of the President’s visit, Himachal Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena has called an important meeting of various departments today.
In this meeting to be held at the State Secretariat, instructions related to security arrangements, improving the condition of roads, and making proper arrangements for water and electricity during the President’s visit will be given to the concerned officials. Top officials of the President’s Secretariat, Home Ministry, and State Government will also participate in this meeting.
As soon as the President’s Office finalized Draupadi Murmu’s visit, the SPG has also reached Shimla. After this, the SPG has increased the security cover at the President’s residence, The Retreat in Chharabra. Security of the IIT Mandi campus and the Atal Tunnel Rohtang has also been increased.
Draupadi Murmu’s program
Draupadi Murmu will come to Shimla on May 5. On May 6, she will attend the program organized at Army Training Command Rtrack in Shimla. On May 7, she will visit Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, and on May 8, she will visit Atal Tunnel Rohtang. On May 9, she will return to Delhi from Shimla.
Apart from Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi, there are two Rashtrapati residences in the country. One is in Shimla’s Chharabra and the other in Hyderabad. The Rashtrapati residence in Shimla is known as Retreat. Every time the President reaches Shimla’s Chharabra for summer vacation and after spending four to six days in the mountains, he returns to Delhi.
Draupadi Murmu will also stay in the historic heritage of Retreat. Murmu’s family will also come to Shimla with her.
