Rain and Snowfaal continues in Himachal: Yellow alert for heavy rain in 4 districts

Shimla: The spell of rain and snowfall continues in Himachal Pradesh. Rain and snowfall has been occurring in the higher regions of Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu, Kinnaur, Chamba and Sirmaur since Friday. It is raining in many areas including Shimla-Kangra. Even today, there is an alert of rain and snowfall in 4 districts.

According to the Meteorological Department, there will be light to moderate rain and snowfall at some places on March 16. On March 17, 19 and 20, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the higher areas of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Chamba, Kangra and Kullu.

Yellow alert for heavy rain

IMD has issued a yellow alert for heavy rains for Bilaspur, Solan, Sirmaur and Shimla today. The weather will remain dry in the state on 18 and 21 March. An avalanche alert has been issued for Kullu, Lahaul, Chamba, Kinnaur and Jammu and Kashmir.

Una’s temperature reached 24.2 degrees

The lowest temperature in the state was recorded at -2.6 degrees Celsius in Kukumseri. The temperature was -2.1 in Keylong and -0.8 degrees Celsius in Tabo. The minimum temperature in Shimla was 5.6 degrees Celsius. In terms of maximum temperature, it was 24.2 in Una, 23.3 in Nahan, 22.9 in Bilaspur, 19.9 in Kangra, 19.8 in Mandi, 13.0 in Shimla and 0.6 degrees Celsius in Keylong.
