Rajiv Shakdhar becomes Chief Justice of Himachal: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla administered oath

Shimla: Delhi High Court Judge Rajiv Shakdhar has become the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court from today. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla administered the oath of office and secrecy to him in a program organized at the Raj Bhavan. After some time, Chief Justice Rajiv Shakdhar will reach the High Court and take charge.

Many dignitaries including other judges of the High Court were present at the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Justice.

Who Is Rajiv Shakdhar?

Rajiv Shakdhar was appointed as a judge of the Delhi High Court on April 11, 2008. He was confirmed as a permanent judge on October 17, 2011. He was transferred to the Madras High Court in 2016, where he served from April 11, 2016, after which he was transferred back to his Delhi High Court on January 15, 2018.

Justice Rajiv Shakdhar has studied B.Com (Hons), CA, LLB. He completed his education at St. Columba’s School, in Delhi. He graduated in B.Com (Hons.) from University of Delhi in 1984. He later Received LLB degree from Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in 1987 and Enrolled as an advocate on November 19, 1987.
