Retired IAS officer Ram Subhag Singh given extension, appointed as Principal Advisor to CM Sukhu

Shimla: The Himachal government has given an extension to another retired IAS officer. Earlier on July 31 this year, Ram Subhag Singh was given an extension of one year. Now his extension has been extended for two years. This decision of the state government will be considered effective from August 1, 2024. Ram Subhag Singh will get a salary of Rs 1.50 lakh every month. The retired Indian Administrative Service officer will serve as the Principal Advisor to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. Ram Subhag Singh is a retired IAS officer of the 1987 batch.

The Himachal government has given an extension to the controversial IAS officer Ram Subhag Singh, who was removed from the post of Chief Secretary on the letter of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), not once or twice but for the third time.

Questions are being raised on the Sukhu government because while in the opposition, the Congress had raised serious questions about the 1987 batch IAS Ram Subhag Singh especially when the former Jairam government removed Ram Subhag Singh from his post overnight on the orders of the PMO.

Then Congress accused the government and the officer of corruption. Now the same officer has been appointed as the Principal Advisor to the CM by the current government.
