Shimla: The next hearing in the district court in the much discussed Sanjauli Mosque dispute of Himachal Pradesh will now be held on November 22. The All Himachal Muslim Welfare Association has filed a petition in the Additional District and Sessions Court against the decision of the Municipal Corporation Shimla Commissioner Court.

After hearing this petition on Monday, the court of Justice Praveen Garg has reserved the decision. Along with this, an affidavit has also been summoned from the Waqf Board. In Monday’s hearing, lawyers also appeared on behalf of MC Shimla.

In today’s hearing, the district court sought an affidavit from the Waqf Board on the decision given by the Shimla MC Court on October 5. The court asked whether Sanjauli Mosque Committee President Mohammad Latif was authorized by the Waqf Board as the mosque head or not. Now the next hearing in the case will be on November 22.

Let us tell you that the court of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shimla had ordered to remove the upper 3 floors of the mosque in Sanjauli. A petition was filed in Shimla District Court by All Himachal Muslim Association against this decision of the MC court.

MC Commissioner Court had given its verdict on 5th October in the Sanjauli Masjid case. The court had ordered to demolition 3 illegal floors of the mosque. After this, the mosque committee also started the work of removing the illegal part. The work of removing the attic of the mosque i.e. the roof has been completed. Now the walls of the top floor have to be demolished. Meanwhile, the Muslim Welfare Society has challenged the matter in the court.
