Shimla and Kullu top spots, 3 lakh tourists reached Himachal in 81 thousand vehicles

Hug influx of tourists have started arriving in Himachal to see snowfall. The situation is such that from 24 to 26 December, i.e. in just 48 hours, 3 lakh tourists have reached Himachal in 81 thousand vehicles.

More tourists have reached Shimla. According to police data, 1.75 lakh tourists have arrived here in 65 thousand vehicles. Kullu district is at second place where in the last 2 days, about 1.25 lakh tourists have arrived in 16 thousand vehicles. Apart from Kullu and Manali, they are also reaching nearby tourist places.

On one hand, tourists are doing paragliding, snow-bike riding, skiing, horse riding, yak riding in Narkanda, Mahasu Peak, Kufri, while on the other hand, they are watching the China border adjoining Himachal and the snow-covered Himalayan range in front through binoculars from Mahasu Peak in Shimla.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy snowfall till 28 December. In view of this, the police has advised tourists not to go to high altitude areas.

Tourists can reach snow-covered places in Shimla via Chandigarh-Shimla-Kinnaur National Highway-5. There is also proper arrangement for accommodation and food for tourists in Kufri, Narkanda, Fagu. If tourists wish, they can also return to Shimla for overnight stay. These days, rooms in hotels in Shimla, Narkanda and Kufri are available from Rs 1200 to Rs 8000.
