Goa's crime branch arrest 1 Ghana national for possession of Rs 15 lakhs worth of drugs

Shimla: Shimla Police has arrested a total of 9 smugglers, including a girl and a Punjabi youth, from different locations in the last 24 hours. Today, they will be produced in the court for police remand.

According to the police, the detection team of Rampur sub-division recovered 30.88 grams of chitta and 50 thousand rupees in cash from chitta smugglers from Kundidhar village. Five drug smugglers have been arrested here. These include Ajay Kumar and Rohan from Pandoh in Mandi district, Vijay Kumar from Banol in Mandi, Piyush from Pandoh and Rohit from Hoshiarpur in Punjab.

The police have also arrested 4 smugglers of another gang supplying chitta in a planned manner. 11.52 grams of chitta were also recovered from them. These include Rajat Sharma of Mandi, Smriti Thakur of Shimla, Vinay Chauhan of Jubbal, and Abhishek Verma of Kasumpti.

The police have registered a case against all the accused under the NDPS Act and started further action. This action has been taken under Operation Mission Clean of Shimla Police.

Shimla SP Sanjeev Gandhi said that the police has succeeded in arresting 9 drug smugglers in 24 hours. He said that the police campaign Mission Clean is going on in the district against drugs. Under this, the police is taking strict action against drug smugglers.

He warned the smugglers in clear words that the police will not spare the drug sellers under any circumstances. Shimla Police has earlier exposed many drug smuggler gangs and sent more than 200 smugglers to jail.
