Shimla: The weather may change in the high-altitude areas of Himachal tomorrow. Due to this, light snowfall is expected in the high-altitude areas of Chamba, Lahaul Spiti, Kangra and Kullu districts. The weather will remain clear in other areas of the state.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of dense fog in Mandi and Bilaspur districts for the next three days. Until it rains, the fog will continue to trouble people. The people of the state have been waiting for rain and snowfall for 52 days.

But the drought period is not likely to break yet. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of a strong Western Disturbance (WD) for the next 24 days. Due to this, people are not likely to get relief from drought yet.

After the rains pass in the state, that is, in the post-monsoon season, there has been 98 percent less rainfall than normal. This time in the monsoon season also, 19 percent less clouds have rained than normal. This has created drought-like conditions. Its biggest impact has been on wheat-producing farmers.

The water level in rivers and streams has started decreasing. Due to this, water for wheat sowing, electricity production and drinking water schemes has started decreasing. Electricity production has fallen due to the decrease in water level in the rivers.
