Tourists dance, ski, paraglide in snowy Manali after fresh snowfall

Manali: After snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, tourist places have become lively again. Tourists are seen having fun in the snow after reaching Himachal. A few days ago, tourists had started decreasing in cities like Manali, but due to snowfall, there is now a crowd here. Advance booking of rooms has started in hotels. Mall Road is seen full of people.

During the snowfall season, the Atal Tunnel built in Rohtang attracts a lot of tourists. These days people are coming here not only from all over the country but from all over the world. However, on Tuesday night the road became very slippery due to which the movement of vehicles through the tunnel has been stopped. It is expected that the tunnel will be opened by tomorrow i.e. Friday.

After this, tourists will be able to see snow on the south and north portals of Rohtang Tunnel for the next one month. It is about 27 km away from Manali.

Tourists are capturing memories in their cameras by taking photos and videos amidst the snow. They are throwing snowballs at each other. They are seen enjoying paragliding, skiing, snow-scooter and horse riding amidst the snow.

Manali hotelier Mukesh Thakur said that snowfall has given a new lease of life to tourism in the city. Till two days ago, the occupancy in hotels was 40 percent. It is expected to reach 60 percent after snowfall. He said that after snowfall, tourists have started making online bookings.

Former president of Manali Hotel Association Anup Thakur said that tourism will touch new heights due to the fresh snowfall in the valley. More tourists will come to Manali than before. He said that the occupancy in hotels which had come down to 40 percent, can reach 70 percent after snowfall.
