Tourists elated after seeing snowfall in Manali, Atal Tunnel closed; Pleasant weather for tourism business

Manali: Today the weather fulfilled the wish of the tourists who reached the tourist places with the desire to see snowfall. In the morning, tourists left from Manali for Koksar, Kuth Bihal, Sissu and Nursery tourist places.

There was heavy rain in morning but after 10 o’clock, snowfall started falling in the tourist places. Tourists captured the snow on camera and enjoyed it a lot.

Seeing heavy snowfall, Lahaul Spiti police sent the tourists back to Manali. Tourists also enjoyed snow at both ends of the Atal Tunnel. For some time, the tourists kept enjoying the snow at the end of the tunnel, but seeing the snowfall increasing around the tunnel, the Manali police started sending the tourists back to Manali. Tourists had a lot of fun amidst the snow in the South and North portals of Atal Tunnel including Sissu and Nursery.

Manali Police closed Atal Tunnel for tourist vehicles after more than four inches of snowfall at both ends of Atal Tunnel.

After noon, snowfall started in Manali’s tourist destination Rohtang along with Solanganala, Anjani Mahadev, Fataru, Kothi and Gulaba. Vehicle drivers Narendra and Jagdish told that heavy rain started on Monday morning. At 12 noon, snow started falling at both ends of the Atal Tunnel.
