Paonta Sahib: An unknown vehicle crushed a youth in Paonta Sahib of Sirmaur district of Himachal last night. The youth died on the spot. The police have taken the body in their custody. Today his post-mortem is being conducted in Paonta Sahib.
The angry public created a ruckus on the Dakpathar road this morning and blocked the road. The local public is demanding the immediate arrest of the driver who crushed the youth.
The police have also started searching for the vehicle that hit the youth. CCTV footage around the incident site is being scanned. On this basis, the police detained three vehicles and their drivers in the night itself. Interrogation of them is going on and it is being ascertained who crushed the youth.
According to the police, this accident took place on the Dakpathar road of Paonta. The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Vishal son of Sukhdev of Khodonwala Kumhar Mohalla. This accident is being reported to have happened at 10 o’clock last night.
In a complaint to the police, Sahil Gupta of Khodonwala said that he was going for a walk from his house to Khodonwala Petrol Pump side at 10 pm, when he saw a young man in injured condition on the roadside. After this, the police was informed about it.
Puruwala police station in-charge Rajesh Paul said that the entire matter is being investigated. The vehicle that hit the man is being traced. Police has detained three vehicles. He said that the body of the deceased will be handed over to the family after post-mortem today.
He said that the young man was unmarried and now it is being ascertained why he had gone out of the house at night.
