Yellow alert for cold wave in 3 districts of Himachal; WD to active day after tomorrow

Shimla: The weather will remain clear in Himachal Pradesh for two days today and tomorrow. Western Disturbance (WD) is becoming active from the day before yesterday. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in higher areas on 16 and 17 February. During this time, the weather will remain clear in other areas.

There is a forecast of rain and snowfall in the high and medium altitude areas of the state on February 18. The dry spell may break in the entire state on February 19. There may be good rain and snowfall in most parts on this day.

Cold wave alert in 3 districts

Meanwhile, the weather department has issued a yellow alert for cold wave in 3 districts today. This warning has been issued to Una, Hamirpur and Bilaspur districts. There may be problems due to cold wave in these districts during night and morning.

Temperature dropped due to cold wave

A sharp drop in temperature has been recorded due to cold wave in the plains of the state during night and morning. In many cities, the night temperature has dropped by 5 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature of Una has dropped to 1.2 degrees after a drop of 4.5 degrees from normal.

The mercury of four cities of the state is in minus. The minimum temperature of Tabo has fallen to -9.9 degrees, Kukumsari to -5.1 degrees, Keylong to -7.6 degrees and Kalpa to -3.2 degrees. The temperature of most of the cities of the state has fallen during the last 24 hours.

77% less rain than normal in winter season

According to the Meteorological Department, this time the rain has been 77 percent less than normal in the winter season. From January 1 to February 13, the normal rainfall in the state is 126.5 mm, but this time the rain has been 29.6 mm.
