Hisar: Justice Rajesh Bhardwaj, Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and Administrative Judge for the Hisar Division, visited the district court complex in Hisar on Saturday, where he was welcomed by office-bearers of the District Bar Association.
The welcome programme was presided over by Bar Association President Pradeep Singh Bajia, while Secretary Sameer Sihag conducted the proceedings.
Bar President Bajia presented a charter of demands and issues concerning advocates to Justice Bhardwaj. Among the key demands were the establishment of regional benches of various tribunals and commissions in Hisar, construction of a multi-level parking facility for advocates, approval of 85 additional advocate chambers and expansion of the Bar Room.
Bar Seeks Permanent Punjab And Haryana High Court Bench
The Bar Association also raised the demand for a permanent bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in Hisar.
Other demands included shifting the judicial lock-up inside the security wall and providing toll-free access to advocates at toll plazas.
The advocates also sought an upgrade of the district court’s medical dispensary into a Primary Health Centre (PHC) and the appointment of a regular medical officer to provide healthcare facilities at the court complex.
Justice Bhardwaj Assures Action On Demands
Justice Rajesh Bhardwaj heard the demands raised by the Bar Association and gave assurances regarding necessary action and resolution of the issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Bhardwaj highlighted Hisar’s historical importance and noted that the city has a rich history. He also said the Hisar court is among the oldest courts in the country.
Justice Bhardwaj said meeting local advocates gave him a sense of camaraderie and belonging and emphasised the importance of maintaining a strong relationship between the Bar and the Bench.
At the conclusion of the programme, the Hisar Bar Association honoured Justice Bhardwaj with a memento.
A large number of advocates attended the event, including Vice President Rahul Singh, Joint Secretary Sahil Maderna and Treasurer Advocate Asha Balyan.
