Hyderabad: A 27-year-old man from Hyderabad was found dead at his residence in Lowell, Massachusetts, on September 14, just 17 days after his marriage, with his family now seeking government assistance to bring his mortal remains back to India.

The deceased, Mohammed Jaber Hussain, was a resident of Santoshnagar in Hyderabad. He had moved to the United States in 2021 for higher studies and later began working as a civil engineer in Lowell.

Hussain Got Married On August 28

According to his family, Hussain got married in Texas on August 28 and subsequently returned to Massachusetts, where he was living and working.

He last spoke to his family on the morning of September 14. Hours later, his family was informed that he had died while sleeping at his residence. The exact cause and circumstances of his death have not yet been established, and the family is awaiting further medical and post-mortem information.

Hussain’s father, Mohammed Zakir Hussain, has also been trying to travel to the United States following his son’s death.

Family Seeks Jaishankar’s Help For Repatriation

Following the death, the family approached Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan for assistance.

Khan appealed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to intervene and ask the Indian Embassy in the US or the Consulate General of India in New York to coordinate with the concerned US authorities and facilitate the repatriation of Hussain’s mortal remains to Hyderabad.

Khan also requested the government to consider bearing the cost of transporting the remains from the US to India, citing the family’s financially difficult circumstances. He said Hussain was the only son of his parents and that the family had been devastated by his sudden death.

Hyderabad Man Had Moved To US In 2021

Hussain moved to the US in 2021 to pursue a master’s degree in civil engineering in Connecticut. After completing his studies, he worked in the engineering sector and later took up employment in Massachusetts. Reports said he had joined another engineering firm in June this year.
