India Strongly Condemns Repeated Attacks on Riyadh Airport
Earlier on Sunday, India strongly condemned the attack on King Khalid International Airport and expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia in defending its sovereignty.
In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) condemned the repeated attacks on the airport over the preceding days, including the October 10 strike, which resulted in deaths, injuries and property damage.
“We strongly condemn the repeated attacks on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport over the past few days, including the dastardly attack on October 10, which have led to loss of lives, injuries and damage to property. We express our condolences to the families of the deceased and wish speedy recovery to the injured persons,” the ministry said.
New Delhi said attacks on civilian areas and essential infrastructure were unjustifiable and called for an immediate end to such strikes.
“The repeated attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are completely unacceptable and must cease immediately,” the MEA stated.
The ministry added that India stood in solidarity with the people and government of Saudi Arabia in defending the kingdom’s sovereignty and expressed hope that peace and normalcy would return to the region at the earliest.
The Indian Embassy’s assistance to the deceased national’s family and the government’s condemnation came amid heightened concern over repeated attacks on the Saudi capital’s airport and their impact on civilians.
