Indian Vision of Education’ Must Blend Indian Vision of Education’ Must Blend Values with Learning, Says RSS Leader Banvir Singh

Jalandhar: Emphasising the need for a culturally rooted and value-based education system, Banvir Singh said that the “Indian Vision of Education” must integrate cultural values with formal instruction to shape a responsible and capable generation.

Focus on Holistic and Value-Based Education

Addressing a gathering at the auditorium of the Law Department at St. Soldier Campus, Suranassi, Singh highlighted that education should go beyond rote learning and focus on skill-based, value-based, and holistic development, in line with the National Education Policy 2020.

He said the goal is to transform India into a global knowledge superpower while instilling pride in cultural heritage among youth. Drawing a comparison with Finland’s education model, he noted that education should prepare students not just for exams but for life itself.

Role of Family and Society in Education

Singh underlined that the foundation of human values, moral judgment, and resilience is primarily built within the family environment. He stressed that education must encourage dialogue between generations to nurture social responsibility, national character, respect for labour, and a spirit of unity.

He added that Dharma, or righteous living, plays a crucial role in shaping future generations, as it reflects a way of life rooted in values and ethical conduct.

Importance of Culture and Mother Tongue

Highlighting the importance of cultural identity, Singh said that a strong education system must instill respect for one’s mother tongue and traditions. He asserted that education should not be seen merely as a means of earning money but as a tool to build a civilized and self-aware society.

He emphasised that India’s education framework should aim to create a self-reliant, competent, and visionary youth capable of contributing to a prosperous nation.
