On Thursday, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri visited the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi and expressed India’s condolences on the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
He paid tribute to Khamenei by signing a condolence book. On Thursday, Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. He also discussed the ongoing conflict in the Middle East with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyed Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al-Busaidi. Meanwhile, in a joint press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb in New Delhi on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a clear message that military action alone cannot resolve any issue.
He stated that law and order, dialogue, and diplomacy are the right path to resolve any conflict.
This message is directed at Russia and Ukraine, while also addressing the ongoing war between the United States, Israel, and Iran.
PM Modi expressed India’s commitment to eradicating terrorism.
PM Modi also mentioned another global challenge: the world urgently needs reform of outdated global institutions. This reform is not only necessary but must be undertaken quickly. It is noteworthy that the United Nations has also condemned the US-Israel-Iran war and emphasized the need for peace, but its call has not been taken seriously. Another situation for India is that when the US and Israel state that such a major war has been launched to fight terrorists, how can India condemn it?

We want global stability, growth, and prosperity. Whether it’s Canada or Finland, we are deepening our strategic partnership with them. This is the future. War and the use of military force cannot resolve any issue. Along with expressing condolences for Khamenei’s death, India has issued a very measured response, clearly stating its stand against terrorism in all its forms.
