Amid the ongoing crisis at IndiGo over the past five days, a crucial meeting will be held today (Sunday) at Chandigarh Airport. Senior officials from the Punjab Aviation Department, Chandigarh Airport Authority (CHIAL), CISF, and IndiGo officials will be present.
During this time, the situation will be reviewed. Further strategy will be formulated. Officials will then meet with the media. However, it is believed that all IndiGo flights will resume regular operations by Monday.
It should be noted that three flights have been cancelled from Chandigarh Airport so far today. These include flights 6E5261 to Mumbai (BOM), 6E146 to Lucknow (LKO), and 6E627 to Kolkata (CCU).
Situation improving, only 18 flights cancelled.
IndiGo flights haven’t fully resumed operations yet, but the situation has definitely improved. On Friday, 18 flights were cancelled, while on Thursday, 35 flights were affected.
People whose flights were cancelled were experiencing difficulties upon reaching the airport. Taxi and other operators were also taking advantage of this. However, the airline has now begun rescheduling passengers onto other flights. However, some flights have still not resumed.
No complaints of overcharging were received.
As soon as problems arose with IndiGo’s operational system at the airport, the Airport Authority formed a task force. This included officials from all departments, including the company. Meanwhile, Chandigarh Airport Authority CEO Ajay Verma said, “We are monitoring the situation. We have not received any complaints of overcharging or anything else. Our goal is to ensure that people do not face any problems.”
Passengers were sent messages about cancellations in advance.
CEO Ajay Verma stated that the situation is under control. Passengers were informed in advance about the cancelled flights, which prevented them from coming to the airport. Passengers who have arrived at the airport are being provided with all the necessary amenities, from seating to medical care. The situation will improve by Monday.
