Bangladesh unrest: Actor Shanto Khan, father Selim Khan lynched to death by unruly mob

Dhaka: The situation in Bangladesh is not getting better but worse even days after PM Sheikh Hasina left the country after her resignation. People associated with Sheikh Hasina’s party are attacked and killed. The latest case is of mob lynching, which has claimed the lives of the country’s famous actor Shanto Khan and his father Selim Khan. There are reports that when both of them were running to save their lives, the mob caught them and beat them to death.

According to media reports, on Monday, actor Shanto Khan’s father Salim Khan was also killed. Salim was also a film producer and director by profession. According to the Daily Sun, Shanto and Salim were running away from their hometown. During that time, they got caught in the ongoing uproar in the Farakkabad market of Balia Union. It is reported that when both of them reached Bagara market, they were surrounded by the mob there.

It is said that both of them also fired bullets to escape from the mob. After this, the mob attacked both of them and killed them. He also directed the film ‘Tungi Parar Miya Bhai’. This film was based on the life of Bangladesh President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

In a conversation with Times of India, film producer Arindam said that he had talked to Salim Khan on Monday. He said, ‘I had talked to Salim Bhai on Monday itself. After a few hours, Commando director Shamim Ahmed Rony called me from America to find out if there is any news. He said that his hands are trembling after hearing the news about Salim Bhai. When I also found out, I was stunned.’
