Beruit: Amid the ongoing war with Palestine in Gaza, Israel has carried out air strikes on Hezbollah organization’s bases in the Middle East country Lebanon. The Israeli military stated on Monday informing about the air strike. Israel’s Defense Force (IDF) said that between 6:30 am on Monday (3:30 am local time) and 7:30 am, about 800 Hezbollah bases were attacked with missiles and rockets.
So far 492 people have died in this attack and the toll is likely to increase. As per reports, More than 5000 people have been injured. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that among the dead are 39 women and 24 children. According to the report, before the attack, Israel had also sent an alert in a recorded message on the phones of the people of Lebanon.
According to the report of news agency AFP, this is the biggest attack on Lebanon so far since the Gaza war started. After Israel’s air strike, Lebanon has closed all schools and colleges for 2 days on Monday. Markets have also been ordered to remain closed. As a precaution, people have been instructed to stay in their homes as much as possible.
The Lebanese Health Ministry has ordered all hospitals in southern Lebanon to cancel surgeries that are not urgent, so that people injured in the Israeli attack can get immediate treatment.
Israel issued a statement saying that 800 Hezbollah locations in South and East Lebanon have been targeted. Later, a target strike was also carried out in Lebanon’s capital Beirut. A source close to Hezbollah said that Israel has hit a senior Hezbollah operative. After these attacks, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) has said that they will soon attack Hezbollah locations in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley as well. The Israeli army has asked the people living in the Bekaa Valley to leave the area.
After the air strike, Hezbollah also attacked Israel. According to Hezbollah, their fighters bombed 5 arms factories of Israel. Israel’s army IDF said that after the air strike, 35 rockets were fired from Lebanon. However, information about how much damage Israel has suffered in this attack is not available.
