Canada: Sikh businessman shot dead in broad daylight at Mississauga

Mississauga, May 15: Harjeet Singh Dhadda, a well-known sikh businessman, was tragically gunned down in broad daylight outside his office in Tranmere Drive near Telford Way, close to Dixon and Derry roads, on May 14, 2025.

Peel Regional Police have confirmed the homicide but have not officially released the victim’s identity. Sources close to the investigation have identified the deceased as Dhadda.

Dhadda, originally from Bazpur, Uttarakhand, India, was a well-respected figure in Ontario’s Sikh community. He operated a successful trucking safety and compliance business in Mississauga and was actively involved with a local Gurdwara committee. According to close associates, Dhadda had recently received threatening calls from extortionists and had reported these incidents to the police prior to his death.

The investigation is ongoing, and Peel Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. The loss of Dhadda has sent shockwaves through the community, with many remembering him as a dedicated and compassionate leader.
